In June 2011, the Mississippi Partnerships for Employment for Youth and Young Adults with Developmental Disabilities including Intellectual Disabilities (MSPE) was established as a consortium to develop and direct a state-level collaborative approach to improve employment outcomes for Mississippi youth and young adults with DD/ID. Managing partners were the Mississippi Council on Developmental Disabilities (MS CDD); The University of Southern Mississippi Institute for Disability Studies (IDS), Mississippi’s University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service (UCEDD); and Disability Rights Mississippi (Protection and Advocacy System).  Other Consortium members consisted of vital state agencies including the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services, Mississippi Department of Education, Mississippi Department of Mental Health Bureau of Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities, Mississippi Department of Employment Security, and self-advocates.

Meetings are completed on a quarterly basis in the Jackson area.  For more information on the Consortium Group, contact
